Facts about sun | History | Information | Importance
Hello friends welcome to our blog
Today in this blog you will get to know some valuable information about the sun.
The Sun
The sun is a medium sized yellow coloured star. It is the main and the largest body in the solar system. All the panets, stars and members of solar system revolve aroun the sun. The sun is a star.
It is the most important source of energy for life on the earth. The sun is the star at the centre of the solar system. The sun is the heart of the solar system.
Some facts about the sun are:
1. The diameter of sun is 1,392,000 km.
2. The distance between the sun and the earth is 1.5 ×10^8 km.
3. The temperature of its surface is
6×10^3 ° c.
4. The temperature of its core is
1.5 ×10^7 °c.
5. The mass of the sun is 2×10^30 kg.
6. The distance of the sun from Galactic centre of milky ways galaxy is 2.5 ×10^4 light years.
7. The sun is 109 times wider than the earth.
Composition:
The sun is composed of about 75 % of hydrogen and 25 % helium.
It takes about 2.5×10^8 years to complete one revolution around the galactic centre and this time period is known as one cosmic year.
It consists of three layers - photosphere, chromosphere and corona.
The sun produces an enormous amount of energy due to nuclear fusion reaction in which hydrogen is continuously changing to helium.
Here are some of the importance of the sun:
The sun is the main member of the solar system as well as very important part of it.
The importance of the sun are as follows:
1. It helps to revolve other members of the solar system due to its strong gravitation.
2. It gives heat and light energy to all the living beings on the earth.
3. It maintains water cycle on the earth.
4. Solar energy can be easily converted into electricity by using solar battery, which can be used for various purposes such as heating, cooking, lightening etc.
5. Solar energy is used by the plant for photosynthesis process.
6. The sun is the principal controller of our solar system.
7. Life has become possible on the earth due to the presence of sun.
8. The sun plays an important role for the earth to keep its outer temperature constant, to maintain the geological activities on the earth.
9. It also helps to supply necessary energy for organisms.
