Composition:
The sun is composed of about 75 % of hydrogen and 25 % helium.
It takes about 2.5×10^8 years to complete one revolution around the galactic centre and this time period is known as one cosmic year.
It consists of three layers - photosphere,chromosphere and corona.
The sun produces an enormous amount of energy due to nuclear fusion reaction in which hydrogen is continuously changing to helium.

7. Life has become possible on the earth due to the presence of sun.
8. The sun plays an important role for the earth to keep its outer temperature constant, to maintain the geological activities on the earth.
9. It also helps to supply necessary energy for organisms.
Without sun, there is no possible of life on the earth. Sun plays an important role for the existence of life on earth.
